<May 1, 2013>

On May 1, 2013, I woke up about 6 am, went to the bathroom and had some spotting.  I began to get ready for the hospital!  It was one day before our scheduled induction, but I didn't figure that we would make it until then.  I called Dr. Rainwater's office once they opened, and they told me to come on in and get checked.  When we got to the doctor's office, Dr. Rainwater just looked at me as I came around the corner and asked me if I had my bags.  I said yes, and she told me to go to Labor and Delivery.  We were going to have a May Day Baby!

We got checked in at Labor and Delivery at about 10 am.  The nurses started my IV and gave me the antibiotic that I needed and then we waited for the doctor.  I was having some mild contractions, but nothing big.  I spent my time on Facebook, Pinterest, and checking my work email as well as texting friends and family.  My friend, Ashley, also came and took some pictures.  At about 1:00 pm, Dr. Rainwater asked them to start my pitocin and she broke my water.  I started having major labor pains at about 2:30, got the epidural at 3:00, and then started hurting pretty bad.  The epidural wasn't working real well.  I could still lift my legs and feel those contractions---big contractions.  At about 3:30, I asked the nurse why I wasn't feeling the relief from the epidural, she began to turn my body, but decided she better check me first, and then said we were having a baby.  After the team of nurses got in, I began to push.  Luckily even though I could feel the contractions, I was pretty numb to the pain.  It was a very easy labor.  After about three pushes, she told me to wait for the doctor.  When Dr. Rainwater arrived, I only had two more pushes left and then at 3:48 pm, we got to meet our third boy, Cooper Isaiah!

I will never forget the moment of the nurse placing that sweet baby on my chest.  The minute he looked at me, I knew this little boy would have me wrapped around his finger forever.  He was perfect.  After they cleaned him up, I watched as his daddy held him.  Jeremy was full of smiles and you could see how proud he was to be a daddy to another baby boy!  It was the sweetest moment ever - seeing Jeremy so happy as he held Coop.  I will forever cherish that moment and image.  Cooper was a little bruised on his face, but other than that, he was completely healthy and happy.  The nurses said the bruising was caused by how fast he came out.

When Jeremy handed me Cooper again, I couldn't take my eyes off of him.  He was so precious and so perfect.  I knew that my life was complete with my three little boys and my sweet husband.

Grandma Spillers brought Jacob and Trace to meet their new brother at about 4:30.  They were so excited and so sweet.  They loved him the moment that they saw him.  It was a precious moment.  They kept looking at him and rubbing his head.  It was sweet to hear their "I love you's."

While I was moved to my different room, Ma Ma and Pa took the boys to get something special for Cooper. They came back with a special rose from the boys and a small teddy bear.  Jacob and Trace were also very proud of their "Big Brother" bracelets.

Along with Grandma Spillers, Pa Reg and Ma Ma Donna came in to see Cooper.  Later that evening, G and Randy came to visit and then Pa Pa Spillers, Aunt Danielle and Uncle Danny came to see Cooper too.

Here are photos from that first day!  We are already in love!
